Is my ex tryna get back, what should i do to show i miss him besides telling him?

We had a nasty breakup back in jan. In june I apologized for mistakes Ive made during the relationship. He responded back, but after that i didnt here from him. Last week he text me twice in one day once with the typical, how are u holding up text. Which i didnt respond to and then he sent another text which i couldnt retrieve because nextel sucks. when i asked him to resubmit the text he said maybe we could talk later. he told me the text was way 2 long to resend. So, I text him 2days later that I seriously missed him. And he responded saying do i really, and that for some reason he has a hard time believing that. So, via text messaging i spilled my heart out 2 him listing all the reasons y I missed him so much. Its a day and a half later and he has not responded. Should I give up or figure out a way to show him i really miss him?
