My new parakeet's/budgie's wings are clipped, what do I do now to tame her?

She will eat a little millet from my hand but it takes her awhile to decide it is safe. I have had her for about three weeks and just got her wings clipped a few days ago. She looks really lonely but I don't want to get her a partner until I have tried everything I can think of to tame her and hopefully get her to bond with me. If everything fails then I am willing to get her a partner but not until then. I try to hold millet in her cage for her several times a day for a half an hour or more, it usually takes her about 15 minutes to eat anything. She does not try to bite me but she is very scared of my hand still and backs away if I come near. Any suggestions would be very welcome! Sorry for the rather long question.
