How can i make purple lights?

When my granddaughter was a young girl, She purchased some white (clear) christmas lights, clear plastic acrylic cups and light purple tissue paper. She used a drill to make a hole in each cup, covered the outside of the cup with the tissue paper and inserted a light in each cup. She strung them around her room it was so pretty. If you have a lamp shade cover it with tissue paper. If not enough purple, think about taking the shade apart and replace the material with tissue paper. Don't use to strong of light bulb. You sound like a decorator in the making
