Does China really think it can Compete with the USA F-35 Fighter Jet with 80's jet fighters from russia?

Yes, the F35 is far superior to anything China has. The J20 is so new and untested there is no mention of what it can do. If they have to copy Russian made equipment do you really think they have the avionics that can beat a US made aircraft! Just because China can make TVs doesn't mean they can make a better stealth. They are in our neck of the woods now. We dominate this area and we would certainly clean their clock in a standoff. Even with our old technology we still do well. The F-15 still has an undefeated track record of 104 aircraft to no losses.
