I have no idea how to find people on the internet?

I was informed that the Eagles' Desean Jackson's parents were originally from Pittsburgh and that his mom, Wanda attended Duquesne University about the time that I was there. I would love to know her maiden name so that I could try to find out if I was acquainted with her. I would appreciate it if someone could steer me in the right direction for locating this information.
